- What is EFT Tapping?
I absolutely love working with EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, or Tapping. The ways in which it can neutralise old limiting beliefs and remove the pain from past events just fills my heart with joy. I am not saying it is always 100% effective - no intervention is, not even pharmaceuticals or surgery - and I'm not saying the shifts always happen within a couple of minutes (the so-called one minute wonders); often the techniques require practice and persistence: but when this is applied the results can be fantastic.
- EFT draws on the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine and blends it with cutting-edge insights of modern Western psychology. Think of the process as needle-free, emotional acupuncture that can help you break free from whatever has been holding you back. By "tapping" on the body's meridian points - the same parts of the body manipulated during an acupuncture session, you can quickly dissolve the energetic blocks that have been hindering your physical or emotional recovery. The result is a stress relief modality that can help you finally understand and eliminate those negative feelings and thought patterns that have been holding you back and even making you ill.
To some readers that may sound like a bit of New Age whimsy but, by using fMRI scans, science is now able to show that stimulating the acu-points on the head and torso has the effect of calming the amygdala, part of the brain involved in the stress response. The body has to move out of the stress response before it is able to repair and renew.
Tapping is an incredibly versatile healing technique. It's been successfully tested and used to treat a number of conditions including:
food cravings, children's anxiety, fear, headaches, back and joint pain,
- adult anxiety, nicotine addiction, nail-biting, gambling and alcohol addictions,
- deteriorating eyesight, childhood fears, family strife, insomnia and
- many types of phobia.
Simply put, EFT tapping is one of the easiest and fastest healing techniques available to you. Whether you use it on its own or to supplement traditional or medical treatment, 'tapping' can supercharge and drastically reduce your recovery time.
Best of all, after a few sessions you'll be able to do it on your own and even teach it to your family and friends.
